Job match

Is this job right for you? Find out before you write a word.

Every application costs you an evening. Job match holds the job ad up against your CV, your LinkedIn profile and your personality profile, so you can see whether the job deserves that evening before you spend it.

Sound familiar?

How do I know whether a job is right for me?

Most experienced professionals ask themselves that question many times during a job search. The answer is rarely in the ad.

You can. But do you want to?

With many years of experience you could do a great many jobs. That makes choosing harder, not easier. Being able to do the work is not the same as wanting to apply for it.

Time is short

Perhaps you are searching alongside a job, early in the morning or over lunch. Then you cannot afford to spend an evening on the wrong ad.

Many applications, few replies

You have sent many applications and heard back from few. Perhaps several of them were never a good match to begin with.

Watch it happen

From ad to assessment, step by step.

First your CV. Then your personality. Finally the full picture, with what you should ask about.

“

Many times I saw a job that looked like a perfect fit for my CV, until my profile showed the conflicts: lots of compliance and control, repetitive tasks, a lot of working alone and little creative freedom.

How Jobpace helps

Three numbers, and what is written between the lines.

Job match does not give you a yes or a no. It gives you a better basis for your own judgement.

1
Paste in the adJobs → Job match
Copy in the whole job ad. If you have several, you can paste up to 15 at once and score them together.
2
See three numbersOverall match · Resume & experience · Personality fit
Each number is out of 10. With a slider you decide how much your personality and values should weigh against your CV.
3
Read the reasoningStrengths · gaps · red flags
You get it in plain words: where the match is strong, what the ad asks for that your CV does not show, and what you should ask about.
4
Choose, and move onJobs → Work on this job
Save the jobs that are worth your time. From the job card you make a CV for that particular job, and the cover letter builds on that CV. It all stays together, so you have an overview of what you sent where.
Many ads at once. Paste in up to 15 ads and run the match on all of them. They land in three groups: Look closer (7 or above), Maybe (5 to 6.9) and Probably not (below 5), with one sentence on why. Only the ones you save move on to Jobs.
You decide. Jobpace recommends, you decide. A lower match does not mean you should drop the job. It may be exactly what to ask about in the interview.

Questions we often get
How is Jobpace's job match different from the AI I already use?

You can do many single things with other AI tools too. I did the same when I started: I built my own GPT that matched job ads against my CV. But then I had to copy the answer out to use it for my CV or my cover letter, and I still had to keep track of my network, my processes and a folder of which CV I had sent where. One AI tool covers one small part of a job search.

Jobpace brings it all together in one place, without you having to become an AI expert. And you can still use your own AI alongside it, for example to challenge a result.

The most important difference is what gets matched. Most job matching looks backwards: do my CV and my experience fit the job? Then you know whether you are qualified. But not whether the job suits your talents and the way you prefer to work.

Job match in Jobpace holds the job ad up against your CV, your LinkedIn profile and your personality profile. That brings out what is written between the lines.

Do I need to take a personality test first?

No, it is entirely optional. The tools work well on experience alone. But a personality profile makes the match and the interview preparation noticeably more precise.

We recommend PrinciplesYou or High5, both free. If you already have a DISC, TMS or other profile, you can simply paste in the results. You can also describe your working style in your own words.

Can anyone see that I am looking for a job?

No. Nothing you do in Jobpace is visible to anyone else. No employer is ever notified, and nothing is passed on.
