Sound familiar?

The job ad is the shop window. Once it is up, you are in a queue.

Many good senior jobs begin with a conversation. Understanding that is not the hard part. Doing something about it in the middle of a job search is.

You cannot announce it

You are in a job, and "Open to Work" is out of the question. You want to know which companies are worth going after before anyone knows you are looking.

Your network wants to help

But it does not know how, because you have not said exactly what you are looking for. So it stays at a well-meant "I'll keep my eyes open".

You are not the type to write to strangers

Few people are. It gets much easier when you have a good question to open with and do not have to ask for a job.

How Jobpace helps

From target list to coffee meeting.

It is the way a headhunter works, turned into four steps you can take one at a time.

1
Know what you are looking forKompas → Top 10 job titles and Values Finder
Jobpace suggests the titles your profile fits, and Values Finder helps you put into words what you need. Then you can tell your network too. About personality and values.
2
Find 10 to 15 target companiesKompas → Map the market
Companies in your area that fit your profile, and a few worth knowing a little further away. With LinkedIn search strings and one click to put them in Network.
3
Make contactNetwork · Outreach kit
Jobpace suggests a personal message for each contact. For a specific ad you get who to find, a search string, a message and questions to open with.
4
Keep the threadTo contact → Contacted → Replied → Meeting booked
The relations map shows who you have not spoken to for a while, and Radar reminds you who is waiting for your reply.
Start small. Five companies you would like to work for. One person in each. One question you genuinely want answered. It is not asking for a job. It is a conversation before anything is at stake.
How to get started

3
Write to the first one
Pick one person, use the suggested message as a starting point and make it your own.
Nothing you do in Jobpace is visible to anyone else. No employer is ever notified.
Questions we often get
How does the proactive side of Jobpace actually work?

The proactive side is what we call Network. The idea is simple: a job is hardest to get once it has been advertised. And many hiring managers would rather avoid the long, heavy and expensive process of advertising a job. So it pays to be ahead and use your network.

Find the right companies. Based on your values, your job titles and Map the market, Jobpace suggests specific companies that fit you, and search strings you can use on LinkedIn to find the right people in them.

Keep track of your contacts. You collect the companies and the people you talk to in one place and see how far along you are with each, from the first message to the coffee meeting.

Lose no threads. The relations map shows you straight away who is going cold, and Radar reminds you who is waiting for your reply.

What does it mean to get ahead of the queue?

Once a job has been advertised, the company typically gets a great many applications, far more than just a few years ago. Then you are standing in a long queue.

Getting ahead of the queue means making contact before you send the application, or instead of it. You find the hiring manager or the headhunter and ask a few good questions about the job. First and foremost, you find out whether it is right for you at all. If it is, you are remembered as the one who was genuinely interested and had done their homework.

Jobpace helps you find the right people and suggests what to write and which questions to open with. That makes it easier, even if you are not used to reaching out, or if you are more introverted.

Can anyone see that I am looking for a job?

No. Nothing you do in Jobpace is visible to anyone else. No employer is ever notified, and nothing is passed on.

You can read how we handle your information on the privacy page.
